Cadbury Plans to go Fair trade

So i found a very exciting news article in the NZ herald Yesterday. Titled 'Cadbury's to cut the guilt form Chocolate'. This only really means one thing, Cadbury are going ethical! As i kept reading, my heart sank slightly because It sounds like this is still a british thing, and Australia and New Zealand are 'also looking into going fair trade'. Feel the sink? But This is hope, and is proof of peoples hearts changing, and big compainies thinking beyond the bottom line. Now We can hope and call Cadbuy Australia and NZ to follow suit.

Its a great start, and give us great hope for the future. The UK is a few years ahead of UK, so with continued pressure and time i think they will head in the right direction. We just need to pump up the FLO certification to make it worth while for them.

As for if they are going to use FT Sugar, if it carries the FLO cert, then I suspect it would have to be made with FT sugar as well. Based on talking to one of the guys making FT Chocolate in Aussie.

Who knows one day one of the big retails chains might stock FT Cotton! Hopfefully from Micah of course :)

There is a good basis for a letter to send to Cadburys in NZ to keep the pressure on at Daniell Stricklands blog, http://www.armybarmyremix.blogspot.com/
